For the first time in Auckland, I'm offering my signature sensory-friendly Christmas mini sessions!
Let me capture your child's silly faces, their bubbly personality, and your love for one another. During our Christmas mini session together, I will guide and photograph you in a studio environment with minimal distractions so you can give each other your full attention without the busyness of shoppers in the mall or feeling pressured to pose in a public space.
My sensory-friendly sessions are designed for children and adults with disabilities, additional needs, and neurodiverse people who may find a traditional Christmas photo overwhelming. These sessions are open to any and all families. I use my skills attained from my Master's in Speech Pathology to help prepare my families for the sessions and can provide a safe space for your child to explore their surroundings while we capture some special photographs of you together.

ONCE YOU HAVE SELECTED YOUR SESSION DATE AND TIME, I WILL SEND YOU YOUR INVOICE, QUESTIONNAIRE, AND CONTRACT FOR YOU TO REVIEW AND SIGN.
YOUR SESSION IS NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL YOUR BOOKING FEE IS RECEIVED AND THE CONTRACT IS SIGNED.
HOW DO MINI SESSIONS WORK?
WHAT'S THE BOOKING PROCESS?
Follow the above calendar link to secure your time spot.
Once you have selected your session online at a time that suits you, you will receive a confirmation message. You will then receive an email with an invoice which is to be paid within 24 hours to secure your session. If no payment is received your session time will be made available.

I'VE BOOKED, NOW WHAT?
That's awesome! Shortly after booking confirmation, you will receive your wardrobe guide to help you when deciding what you and your family will wear for the shoot. When you have a combination of outfits in mind feel free to send me a photo if you'd like a second opinion.
Keep an eye out for an email that I have put together especially for your family to help prepare your child/ren for the session - the social storybook explores the process in an easy-to-understand visuals-based book.
On the shoot day, all you need to do is turn up 10 minutes before your session, as the time slots are strict to keep the day running smoothly and check in with my assistant. Be ready to have fun and create some lovely memories with your family.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
My mini sessions are 25 minutes compared to my full family session which is 1-1.5hrs. Although we don't have the time for outfit changes, during minis, some families like to add to their outfits with additional layers and accessories and this is a great opportunity to get another set of different images.
PS. Don't be worried about the kids 'misbehaving' or not smiling on cue, I will give them lots of opportunities to be themselves and I will be sure to give them ample time to play and have fun while I document the session! 25 minutes is heaps of time to get a combination of poses without it becoming too overwhelming.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SESSION?
After your Christmas mini session, you will be sent an online gallery of images to choose your favourite five to download and share with family and friends. You can expect this gallery within a week of your session.
Once you have chosen your images you may wish to purchase more and you are welcome to shop, prints, canvases, frames, and photo boxes through the online store attached to your gallery.

A photographic print mounted behind a heavy mat slip slides effortlessly into a crystal-clear acrylic block. Perfect for existing clients who have purchased an 8x10" matted print as these are interchangeable.
They are perfect for your desk at work, bookshelf at home, Tv cabinet, or gifting to grandparents. One size is available 5×7.5″ prints in an 8x10" mat and acrylic block for $350.
WHEN WILL MY PRODUCTS ARRIVE?
Your 5 pre-paid images can be downloaded instantly from the online gallery. If you decide and pay for any additional products online, your order will be processed that day. You can expect a turnaround time of 4-5 weeks, allowing for your frames to be handmade, and your prints matted by my professional lab of choice.
I strongly encourage you to order any additional products by the 10th of November Christmas cut off date at the absolute latest. Nicole Paton Photography will not be responsible for any delays caused by postage.
WHERE IS THE STUDIO?
The studio is based in St Johns, has plenty of street parking, and is wheelchair accessible. The exact address will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed. There is a bathroom onsite. In order to meet the sensory requirements of my clients, there will be no flash photography and minimal auditory stimulation. For children that abscond the roller door to the studio can be adjusted if necessary to provide a safe environment.

the booking fee required to secure your session and is non-refundable. If Your booking can not go ahead due to restrictions in place by the NZ government the event will be postponed and you will be credited the full amount to use towards products in the future.
FAQ
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Auckland, New Zealand and yes I'll totally travel for your shoot! If you want me to photograph your story and you're out of town I charge a travel fee but not to worry. I always try to keep costs reasonable because I love the opportunity to shoot in a new place and see more of our beautiful country and abroad.
How do you photograph our story?
My job doesn't start the morning of your portrait session. Right from our first phone call I will ask you about you, your family, your partner what is important to you and how you see your images being used or displayed after your photography session. I work hard to get an idea for how you want to be remembered, what you value, and work towards that goal as I shoot.
I believe that a good relationship is essential for you to be able to open up during our photo session so I'm known to grab a drink or two with you or arrange extra video calls for those of you out of town. All the prep work makes the final portrait session a breeze, you're comfortable with me, I'm having a blast, and the photos show the genuine emotions I'm know for capturing.
When will we get our photographs/products?
After our session together we will have already arranged our viewing appointment for a week following your session. This is such an exciting time for you, you get to come to my home (or I can come to yours!) I will pop on a slideshow, have some snacks and drinks ready and we can view your images for the first time together. You pick your favourites and how you want to display them and I will guide you through this with mock ups made with custom images of your home. After this appointment I will place your wall art and album order and the turn around time for these products is 6-8 weeks.
Do I get the digital files from my shoot?
Yes, my Family and Portrait sessions include the option to purchase printed products. Once you have made your selection of any images you have chosen to print, you will receive the corresponding digital file. For example, if you purchase my 'Gallery Frame' 30x30" framed print with your favourite nine images matted and framed, you will receive the web resolutions files of those 9 images to share on social media and with family.
Way to Pay? Afterpay!
Yes, we offer Afterpay and depending on your use of Afterpay you can spend from $500 up to $1500 with split payments during your consultation session with me.
Afterpay allows you to purchase in four installments, due every 2 weeks. For example, if you purchase an item for $200, you pay 4 installments of $50. Alternatively, if your purchase is $4000 you can pay up to $1500 with Afterpay and the balance settled with me.
There is no additional cost to use Afterpay as long as you pay on time. All of your payments are interest free, and you will receive your order confirmation right away.
