A Pure Delight!
I just could not stop smiling when I received an inquiry asking if I was available to capture the lovely Olive's 100th birthday! I had never meet a 100 year old and now I was getting to celebrate the milestone with them, Yes please! I responded right away and the plans were in place. All of Olive's friends and family travelled from all around New Zealand and some from overseas to celebrate the big 100!
Olive lives with dementia and this makes life difficult however seeing the joy on her face each time she realised that the party was for her and the overwhelming emotions on her face as she received a letter from the Queen as well as the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was such a special moment to be a part of.
Olive is a keen painter and has a gorgeous collection on art work she has gifted to her wider family, what an awesome legacy to leave your children and children's children. Because of her love for painting Olive received a custom made birthday cake with a cake topper that looked just like her and a replica of her favourite piece of art painted with food colouring. The cake maker did such an incredible job an everyone love it!
I am so pleased that Olive's family chose to have her special day captured by my and I hope they look back at their photographers fondly and remember the great celebrations that were had and memories shared.
